End-to-end cleaning for high-speed trains
From the main depot to the stations, from the journey itself to overnight stays, we clean trains to defined procedures.
Deep Cleaning
At the main high-speed train depot we clean the Siemens trains inside and out, restock consumables, fill the fresh water tanks and empty the waste water tanks.
The contract and TCDD ask for each train to be deep cleaned every 15 days. We don't wait: every train that is available gets a deep clean.
Deep cleaning procedure
- Wiping seats and removing stains
- Wiping footrests
- Removing crumbs and dirt between seats
- Cleaning the sockets on the seats
- Washing, ironing and replacing soiled headrest covers
- Disinfecting seat-back tables and removing stains
- Disinfecting and cleaning the entertainment systems in business class armrests
- Disinfecting and cleaning overhead luggage racks
- Dry cleaning carpets and removing stains
- Spot cleaning stains that dry cleaning can't lift
- Cleaning wooden surfaces with special polishing chemicals
- Wiping the ceiling and ceiling monitors
- Cleaning passenger car windows inside and out
- Disinfecting and deep cleaning the driver's cabs
- Disinfecting toilets and sinks, and cleaning walls with chlorinated water
- Cleaning the gangways between cars
- Disinfecting luggage areas and polishing metal parts
- Wiping the cars from floor to ceiling with disinfectant chemicals
At the station, between services
- Spray disinfection of the whole train
- Collecting rubbish
- Disinfecting and wiping seat-back tables
- Vacuuming carpets
- Checking and cleaning seats
- Restocking consumables
- Filling fresh water and emptying waste water tanks as needed
- Washing the train's nose and windscreen
During overnight stays at stations
- Spray disinfection of the whole train
- Collecting rubbish, disinfecting and wiping seat-back tables

- Filling fresh water and emptying waste water tanks
- Washing both noses of the train
- An exterior wash of the whole train when needed
To wash train noses, our staff have completed TCDD's training on safety rule 551.

Our staff are trained on, and operate, the equipment used to clean trains and sites at the main high-speed train depot and at the stations.
At the main depot

- Automatic waste water extraction and fresh water filling station (Ankara and Konya)
- Waste water extraction pump (Istanbul and Eskişehir)
On-Train Staff
Our on-train staff board at the departure station and hand their duty sheets to the train manager and the driver.
While the train is running, they carry out their duties according to the job description prepared by TCDD Taşımacılık A.Ş.
During the journey
- Boarding at the departure station and handing over duty sheets
- Cleanliness and tidiness checks in the cars, as described in the duty description
- Working together with the train manager and the driver
Health & Safety
We employ a full-time class A occupational safety specialist, and also have a full-time occupational physician and paramedic team.
Every employee receives induction training before starting work, covering the hazards and what to watch out for. Team leaders also show new starters the hazards in practice, on the job.
Our practices
- First aid and firefighting teams, set up with the safety committee and fully trained
- Weekly 10-minute hazard briefings for all employees
- Legally required training planned and delivered by the safety specialist and physician
- Safety committee meeting on the last Friday of every month
- Committee attended by the employee representative, the Siemens and RCS safety specialists and managers
- Prompt action on every finding
